Executive Director, Central Florida

Central Florida Communities (CFC) and Central Florida Group Homes (CFGH) have been providing outstanding care to individuals with developmental disabilities in Orange, Seminole, Brevard, and Lake Counties for almost 40 years, and employ more than 440 employees providing warm, welcoming programs in their 3 Intermediate Care Facilities and 17 group homes to over 600 clients through a wide array of services. These services include Residential Rehabilitation, Behavior Analysis, and Adult Day programs; programs that strive for excellence by supporting and encouraging each individual to achieve a level of independence in an environment that promotes choice, dignity, happiness, and opportunities to participate in decisions that affect every aspect of their lives.

The CFC/CFGH organization’s current Executive Director is being promoted into the Chief Operating Officer role for the DSI Management Company. Both CFC and CFGH are owned by and affiliated with The Guardian Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to providing excellent care with a focus on both short-term and long-term residential care to clients with multiple medical, cognitive, and emotional issues in 4 states.

CFC and CFGH have been blessed with having an outstanding leadership team and dedicated staff, thus making this a wonderful opportunity for an experienced leader to play a pivotal role in helping a wonderful organization build upon a foundation of demonstrated success and excellence.

Ideal Executive Director candidates should:

  • possess a passion and commitment to the people served
  • have strong business and financial acumen
  • capable of understanding the differing funding sources for ICF/CFGH operations have experience with diverse funding streams, Medicaid reform, and working in a “dynamic” regulatory and compliance environment
  • have a strong record of being a collaborator and partner with other health care systems, government, and payors; possess strong advocacy skills
  • have a commitment to staff development
  • have a history of having the confidence of consumers, staff, and the community
  • have excellent verbal and written communications skills, with a reputation of being able to inspire and motivate  
  • be seen by others as having a reputation for honesty, transparency, and credibility with a commitment to a collaborative style of management while also overseeing more than a dozen programs and locations
  • have an appreciation for the rapidly changing health care world and an ability to think strategically with the leadership of DSI, while also being able to function comfortably in a regulatory and reimbursement environment that can be stressful and at times ambiguous
  • capable of focusing on details and practicing “hands-on” management while understanding the “big picture” and able to articulate a vision
  • have a management style that encourages problem solving while holding staff accountable and possessing a management style that can be decisive under challenging circumstances.
  • be a high energy person, with an ability to be adaptable and flexible
  • be technologically adept; have an outcomes and metrics orientation
  • be Master’s prepared and have a minimum of 5-8 years leadership experience in human services settings managing licensed and certified programs for individuals with disabilities and the elderly
