The Opportunity

A rewarding leadership opportunity awaits the new Vice President of IT & Analytics of a forward looking non-profit behavioral healthcare organization – Aurora Mental Health Center, Inc.

The Vice President of Information Technology & Analytics is responsible for overall strategies to meet the current and future needs for information technology and the analysis of current and historical data to achieve organizational goals and objectives and improve clinical, administrative, and financial outcomes and performance. The Vice President will provide vision, strategic and tactical planning, and leadership for the  development, evaluation, and coordination of communications and information technology systems, including system implementation and support, software development and applications management, and information security infrastructure. Robust descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses of clinical and business operations will result from a comprehensive analytics program. The Vice President will lead an information technology and analytics team that aspires to be an agile, contemporary, innovative, and influential partner to the entire organization - where technology is always on, needed information is at their fingertips, all needs are rapidly fulfilled, and operations are continually improving.

Key duties of the Vice President of Information Technology and Analytics include:

  • Senior Leadership Accountabilities: Lead a team of managers or individual contributors. Ensure that managers provide focus and direction to their respective teams. Actively and continuously evaluate, articulate, and model organizational culture through shared assumptions, values, and beliefs. Foster development of leaders and create a culture of accountability. Develop goals, strategic plans, company policies, and make decisions on the direction of the organization. Mobilize and influence external stakeholders and outside resources. Effectively communicate sr. leadership decisions and organizational strategy and plans to managers. Also, share key external updates with team. Set performance indicators.

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the organization's IT function and performance.

  • Improve organizational effectiveness through development, implementation and maturation of communications and IT initiatives. Leads the business through all efforts that drive business performance and potential by using the existent and new data sources and innovative techniques.

  • Provide strategic planning and evaluative services for data/data systems needed and/or utilized by the organization.

  • Coordinate the integration of data, information, and communications systems and serve as the catalyst for new systems development.

  • Formulate and lead vision and strategy for data analytics, reporting and supporting data environments - working across Technical and Operations.

  • Use advanced data analysis to provide insights and business recommendations to leadership.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Our “Ideal" candidate will be an information technology and analytics professional with management and leadership experience in healthcare and human service whose work has demonstrated the following experiences, traits, and characteristics:

  • Have a successful track record leading strategic initiatives and building innovative support systems while maintaining a hands-on, roll-up-your sleeves approach to operations.

  • Be a Coach who develops others - providing feedback, instruction, and developmental guidance to help others excel in their current or future job responsibilities; planning and supporting the development of individual skills and abilities.

  • Drive Results by translating strategic priorities into operational reality; aligning communication, accountabilities, resource capabilities, internal processes, and ongoing measurement systems to ensure that strategic priorities yield measurable and sustainable results.

  • Have high emotional intelligence - and a history of establishing and sustaining trusting relationships by accurately perceiving and interpreting one’s own and others’ emotions and behavior in the context of the political environment; leveraging insights to effectively manage one’s own responses and reactions.

  • Be a Systems Thinker who has contributed to setting healthcare business strategy.

  • Be flexible and adaptable in a rapidly changing health care environment; have a track record of being innovative and entrepreneurial.

  • Comfortable partnering with organizational leaders, team members and colleagues in leading organizational change.

  • Experience driving organizational performance through the evolution of healthcare and decision-support technology including the integration of financial, human resource, and clinical reporting systems.

  • Enjoyment of a fast-paced environment that blends entrepreneurial challenges with integrity and accountability is a must.

  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills are paramount.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering or related field.

  • Preferred: Masters in Business Administration or related degree.

  • Experience setting strategy for an enterprise capability.

  • Direct experience managing and leading teams of IT and Analytics professionals.

  • Proven ability to problem solves across multiple executive priorities.

  • 5 + years of demonstrated results simplifying, automating, and innovating complex processes.

  • 5 + years in an IT leadership role.

Certification, Licensure

Preferred: ITIL and other IT frameworks

Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP)
